My consultancy, called marketing101 has been in business for 3 years.
At Barnes & Noble as VP Marketing, I introduced slotting fees charged to publishers saving Barnes & Noble over $18 million annually. In two years, I opened 190 new stores – one new store every 4.3 days. Created, introduced and marketed paid membership card program which sold over 700,000 memberships and raised over $5M.
I did all the marketing at the beginning of Blue Tulip – now a two-year-old, 7-store gift and stationery chain; all the components I started are still in use for this successful retail roll-out. I executed their expansion into branded gift wrapping and packaging services bringing an incremental 2% to the revenue line. And I led all their naming, branding and identity development.
Last year, I packaged a service as a consumer product for Borders Books and Music called Personal Publishing -- now in beta test – with a national roll-out meaning anywhere from a 3 to 5x multiple for Xlibris Corporation’s revenue line, my client at the time.
